"Soulless Pacifist"

New guitar cover! This one’s a parody of the song “Full Disclosure” (MAJOR SPOILERS) from the show Steven Universe; my version’s about the game Undertale. I’ve left it abstract enough that the biggest spoiler is the title, and it won’t even really be a spoiler until you actually get to that part of the game. So you’ll either know what it’s about, or have absolutely no idea.

If you’re on a slow internet connection, you might want to download the audio instead.

(spoilers for Undertale, darkest ending)

My friend David noted that when you’re on the Genocide route the game encourages you pretty hard to stop what you’re doing, but then also to stop playing. I ignored that, of course, because “I needed more of the story”, but when I finally reached the end, I realized there was basically only one action I could take: make the deal, reset the game…and then walk away. I might never play this game again.

Undertale is “the friendly RPG where nobody has to die”. It’s funny, campy, and quirky, pays tribute to classic RPG/adventure games, has amazing music (including but not limited to chiptune), and ultimately draws you in with its story and characters.

Steven Universe is a TV show about a boy being raised by three alien women superheroes. It’s funny, campy, and quirky, pays tribute to video games and other shows, has amazing music (including but not limited to chiptune), and ultimately draws you in with its story and characters.

A glockenspiel is like a small metal xylophone. Mine has a two-octave range, from “high A” to “really high A”.

Oh, and I decided what to do about my audio problems: record audio with my laptop and video with my phone. I still used the front-facing camera because it’s easier to set up, but the video quality isn’t as important as just having video at all.

Everybody said it’s a happy ending
I guess I didn’t believe them until now
True Reset, started over
Back to the Ruins, through Underground
What did I do?
I don’t want this for you

Everybody tells me I’ve been remorseless
On this playthrough third
But that’s not true
Every blow’s a betrayal
Every level, reminder what I chose to do
Because that was in me too

Why couldn’t I be happy?
Why didn’t I replay just to feel it again?
I needed more of the story
Needed to know what was next and how it would end
Now the best that I can do is just leave everything how it used to be
You don’t need this
You don’t need me
