banana bunny
“What the heck is a banana bunny?”
“You’ve never heard of a banana bunny?”
“I don’t think anyone’s heard of a banana bunny.”
“I didn’t think anyone hadn’t heard of a banana bunny.”
“…What the heck is a banana bunny?”
“It’s like the Easter Bunny, right?”
“You mean the Easter Rabbit?”
“No, I mean…what?”
“The Easter Rabbit?”
“Dude, who calls it the Easter Rabbit?”
“I call it the Easter Rabbit. My whole family calls it the Easter Rabbit.”
“Dude, everyone says it’s the Easter Bunny.”
“Okay, whatever.”
“Okay, so it’s like the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny comes on Easter, and…”
“…and the banana bunny comes on…bananas?”
“Uh…”
“I’m not even gonna touch that one.”
“Okay, so maybe it’s not like the Easter Bunny. It’s like, uh…”
“Are these things even real?”
“What? Of course they’re real. They live in Brazil.”
“Brazil.”
“Yeah, where the bananas are.”
“Dude, bananas aren’t native to Brazil.”
“What?”
“Bananas come from Asia.”
“What? No. …Really?”
“Here, look.”
“…I can’t see the screen.”
“Right here.”
“Can you just—oh. Okay then.”
“So, Brazil?”
“I guess not?”
“Okay, then.”
“Okay.”
“…What the heck is a banana bunny?”
Bonus haiku:
Natural, squishy
Bouncy, wrapped in its own coat
Even edible!
