"Okay, You Two!" (Yotsuha ver, early)

Today for NaCreSoMo I cheated by making an alternate version of “Okay, You Two!”.

This isn’t “cheating” in that it’s not a valid NaCreSoMo post; it’s that I got to reuse all the work I did for the regular “Okay, You Two!” with only minor tweaks. This version has a new, very simple rhythm line, the piano line simplified and played on flute, and the guitar, strings, and the diffuse glockenspiel “shiny” tracks turned off…and is otherwise pretty much the same as the original.

This idea is a little less wacky / creative / out of nowhere than you might think because the original Doki Doki Literature Club track did the same thing in the game: when you focused in on a particular character in certain scenes, the music changed to highlight that. The arrangement for the youngest character, Natsuki, is a lot like this one.

“Yotsuha” is Mitsuha’s little sister in Kimi no Na wa. The whole Miyamizu family has those names, actually: the grandma’s name is Hitoha (一葉), the mom is Futaba (二葉), and then there’s Mitsuha (三葉) and Yotsuha (四葉). Makes you wonder what Hitoha’s mother was named.

I guess I need to make a drawing of Yotsuha now…
