A Primer of Urban Physics

Start with an x/y coordinate plane
Divide up the regions inside your domain
Identify one or more functions per zone
(Try to avoid the suburbanized home)

Let the set of all functions define us a map
Place buildings according till there’s nary a gap
Of course some areas particularly marked
Can serve as a playground or free public park

Population below gives us density
On top, both area and volume are key
And when density rises, so does demand
Population holds on to whatever it can

And when density rises, pressure increases
The system may pressure itself to pieces
So when using your civic machine, do take care
For people are much more complex than, say, air
And it may not be perfect

but we’ll take what’s there.
