Life is Beautiful!
Sunlight streaming through the windows
Twenty minutes past your alarm
Feeling more well-rested than you have in weeksOut the door to a beautiful day
To be spent at work
Where you stretch your mind and others’And in the evening, return home
Faintly exhausted by the hours spent at toil
Returning for a well-earned restFor dinner, a time to savor the replenishing food
But there’s no cash in your wallet
So you make a combination from what’s left overAnd finally, return your your cozy bed
When you get the call
……
…
…There’s no way to turn this one around.
Outside the stars are peeking through the fog
Someone is playing the fiddle on the street
People are laughing
Trees are swaying
Leaves are rustlingAnd a light goes out.
Leaves rustle.
Trees sway.
People laugh.
People sing.
People play.Life is formed of crystal, exquisitely been cracked
And the basis of the beauty’s that we cannot get it backAnd the fog thins.
Bonus haiku:
the best of all worlds
unlikely to be this one
we could make it so
