Magikarp! I choose you!

It was night, and the battle was hard
On mountain-top battered and scarred
The ultimate test
’gainst the Poké-world’s best
But this Venusaur seemed a trump card

So what was a trainer to do?
With her Pokémon now down to two
She knew with no doubt
There was just one way out:
“Magikarp! I choose you!”

And out came the ’Karp with a Splash
Light glancing off fins in a flash
If this trick does work
Then that con artist jerk
Deserves every last bit of his cash

One Tackle; the poor fish was done
Like clockwork the Venusaur sprung
The Hyper Beam hit
And not even a bit
of HP was left—no, not one

The Water-Type, sent out to die
Was recalled to its ball with a sigh
But the trick now, you see,
Was the swap now made free
’neath the enemy’s indisposed eye

For with a rest turn now mandated
The Venusaur intoxicated
There’s time for a Spore
To face attacks no more
And finish what long has been waited
Achieving what’s always been fated
Becoming the Champion-greatest!
