Moving Out
I’m in the middle of packing, just back from a lunch break, and it’s depressing. On the surface level, it’s just seeing empty drawers, bare walls…systematically removing traces of me from the room. But even more, it’s the end of my first year of Berkeley, and the end of living in Spens-Black Penthouse.

So, the other day I came across this episode of Dinosaur Comics, and although the comic is just OK, the title text (mouseover) has a great idea. To instantly make any movie title that much more awesome, just add “Friggin’”!

Four Coolest Kanji / Hànzì
Kanji / Hànzì (漢字 / 汉字) are one of the harder parts about learning Japanese or Chinese. But there are two pairs of characters that are, simply put, awesome.
凸凹 (deko-boko) — first seen in Japanese, means “ridged” or “rugged”. (I call them “Tetris pieces”, even though the latter isn’t a valid Tetris piece.)
乒乓 (pīng-pāng) — seen and used in Chinese 1B, means “ping-pong” or “table tennis” (if it had/has another meaning, I’d be interested to know).
